7th Degree Reiki Grand Master Teacher

Alex Topic graduated from The University of Sydney in 1998, with a BA (Hon), majoring in medieval English literature. His other areas of study included classical civilization, Latin, linguistics and philosophy. After completing these studies he was awarded an APA scholarship and undertook a PhD, which he pursued for three years before discontinuing, feeling it was time to explore holistic health and spiritual pursuits. While teaching English, among other occupations, he pursued his interests in food and diet, yoga, Taoist practices and meditation.

In early 2003 Alex undertook an investigation into the various forms of Reiki before discovering the original seven level system of Reiki and pursued a path that he feels he was destined to travel, learning all seven practitioner levels with his friend of many years, Eva Avatara. He completed the first teacher level in January 2004, the second teacher level in August 2004, and the final teacher level in August 2005, to become a Reiki Grand Master Teacher. Alex has taught in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In 2007 he attained a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. He is the current Secretary of The Association of the Original 7 Level System of Reiki

Eva Avatara 7th Degree Reiki Grand Master Teacher

After completing high school Eva Avatara worked for over ten years in hotel management and as a media consultant in advertising. During this time she explored her interests in fitness and exercise, meditation and yoga, food and diet, particularly veganism. This led her to the conclusion that to restore and maintain the human body’s natural balance a holistic approach to life is required. In early 2003 Eva discovered the Life Empowerment Seminars taught by Roz Lawler and began reconnecting to her higher spiritual self. After briefly undertaking a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Sydney she decided instead to study and practice the seven level system of Reiki with her friend of many years, Alex Topic, and completed the first teacher level in August 2004 and the second teacher level in August 2005. Together they founded Reiki Energy Therapy and have brought Reiki to hundreds of people. In September 2005 Eva moved Melbourne and is now practicing and teaching Reiki there. And in March 2007 Eva completed the final teacher level, becoming a Reiki Grand Master Teacher.
