What is Reiki?
Reiki,
pronounced ray-key, is an effective and simple touch-activated energy therapy
for natural health, relaxation and self-empowerment.
Reiki
was the word coined by Dr Mikao Usui, the modern founder of Reiki, to
describe the nature of the energy that this technique produces. The
word Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words: Rei, meaning ‘universal,’
and Ki, meaning ‘life-force energy.’ Reiki’s life-force
energy is said to be ‘universal’ because it is the essential
underlying energy that makes up every living thing. By boosting and
balancing your Chi or life-force energy through Reiki you can bring
health and vitality to all levels of your being: physical, emotional,
mental and spiritual.
Recent
scientific evidence has revealed that higher frequency energy fields
organize and order the physical body by regulating the endocrine system
and reproduction of our cells. Studies have shown that disturbances
at these higher levels, such as emotional stress and mental anxiety,
filter down into the physical body to cause disease. Reiki has proven
to clear disturbances at these higher levels as well as treating the
physical symptoms of disease, producing health by strengthening one’s
overall being.
The
Benefits of Reiki
Reiki
treats and prevents disease by allowing the flow of energy to all areas
that have experienced blockages, bringing balance, harmony and strength
to one’s overall being. Reiki gives more energy to chronic fatigue
sufferers, relieves arthritis, rheumatic aches and other troublesome
pains. Cuts, burns, sprains and broken bones recover twice as quickly.
The calming effect of Reiki greatly benefits those with stress, hyperactivity
and ADD conditions. And the revitalizing effect of Reiki assists those
with depression.
This
system can also be used in conjunction with all forms of physical activity,
natural therapies and traditional medical modalities, to improve health
and facilitate healing.
